Olympic Level 5 Coach (Kevin Howard) and National Level 3 Coach (Dave Brett), comprise the coaching team of the Griffins Boxing Club Junior, Senior and Elite Amateur Teams. This is the next step in the Glove System after receiving your Red Gloves (to spar you need Green Gloves) and is the route to Club Shows, the Golden Gloves, Provincials, Nationals, and the Olympics to name a few. Following the B.C. Amateur Boxing Associations guidelines, these programs will work on offense, defense, ringmanship, and mental preparation. Teams are divided based on age and skill. Age 10-18 (Cadet A,B,C and Juniors), the age 19 + (Senior) , and the Elite, made up of National, Commonwealth and Olympic Champions like Nathan Kulczycki, Darcy Hinds and Laura Cubbit, as well as Professional Boxers AJ Bone and Andy Mavros.
The teams are open to both Female and Male boxers, and follow the same progression as our revolutionary Glove System. You will not be thrown into the ring, full on, your first time. All training is done so you feel comfortable and ready. Conditional and situational sparring is commonly used in Green Gloves.
